grace freely given and stolen Jesus.

Every once in a great while, I find a book that speaks of Jesus' glorious truths. Like a balm to the soul, and a breath of fresh air. I'm a do-er, a striver, a let's-get-it-done kinda girl --- and more often than I'd care to admit, I need reminders of His grace freely given. This week, in the pages of Stolen Jesus, I found just that.
Jami has a way with words. It's like sitting across the table from a life long friend. Her words lead into stories and lessons that capture not just your attention, but your heart.

I was 'introduced' to Jami through a mutual blogging friend. I was drawn to her candid way of writing - so raw and full of humor. But as much as I admired her writing style, it was her heart that kept me reading --- reading her blog until Stolen Jesus was ready. Her heart for Jesus and the broken and truth. And then there were her stories - and extreme neurosis about stomach bugs! - that were oh-so-familiar.

When I was accepted onto the launch team of Stolen Jesus, I considered it a great honor. I was honored to review the book of a woman whose love and humor poured out freely into written words in a way I cherish. I was excited to have the opportunity to read the book before it's release, and direct others to her witty wisdom.

But I was not prepared for the difference this book would make in my heart. For the flood of relief as I realized I wasn't the only one. I wasn't the only one who had struggled with being afraid of Jesus, instead of having a reverential fear of the Lord. I wasn't the only one who had wearied herself trying to fulfill the law and win the approval of God - instead of surrendering to the grace-filled good news gospel that the cross was more than enough.
Reflections on truth, grace, and Jami Amerine's new book, Stolen Jesus.
Throughout the book, there are stories that will leave your sides aching from laughter and tears streaming down your cheeks. If you're anything like me, you'll find yourself nodding emphatically - transported to the midst of Jami's reality, while simultaneously recalling stories of your own.

I wanted to read quickly through the book --- in part so I could write this review post! But it took me several days to read through Stolen Jesus, because healing requires more time than reading words on pages. And that's what it became: a journey to healing --- to wellness, as I've been writing about recently! And Stolen Jesus was the avenue God chose to remind me of His grace freely given.

You can order your copy of Stolen Jesus here! (When you're done, come back and tell me how much you loved it! You're welcome! :) )

Read more from Jami over on her blog, Sacred Grounds Sticky Floors.

Next week, join me as I finish up the series, Honest Answers to Tough Questions About Adoption Part 3: Bonding and Attachment!

I've never heard of the book Stolen Jesus. It sounds interesting and so many people are hurting and in need of encouragement as they journey through the process of healing. I'll have to add this one to my reading list.
